It is with the deepest sadness that I inform you all of the passing of Director of Servicing and Asst. to BM/ST Bill Doherty

It is with the deepest sadness that I inform you all of the passing of one of the hardest working men the Boston Building Trades has ever known, Bill Doherty. He passed quietly early this morning and will be greatly missed. Please take a moment today to reflect on a great man and keep his family in your thoughts. Bill was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Naval Armed Forces in the MCB-3 SeaBees construction division. Shortly after, Bill served the City of Boston as a Firefighter in Local 718 before moving on as an organizer, and later, Business Agent for Painters District Council 35. He was a fixture at any given event, chronicling the Boston labor and political scene. Bill was one of the strongest voices in the Building Trades and the Labor Movement for over 45 years.

Wake for Bill will be at Murphy's on Dorchester Ave. Wednesday 4-8pm.

Funeral service will be held at St. Mark's Thursday at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the:
