IUPAT DC 35 APPRENTICES HELP BUILD NEW, ACCESSIBLE HOME FOR HANSON WOUNDED WAR VETERAN

Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors, several Massachusetts building trades unions including IUPAT DC 35, and Commodore Builders, handed over the keys to a mortgage-free, injury specific accessible home in Hanson, MA to local wounded war veteran, Cpl Paul Skarinka and his family.

Boston-based Painters and Allied Trades District Council 35 helped build the house that will be presented to Cpl. Skarinka.

The drywall and painting phase began in December 2018 and was completed in March 2019.

DC 35 apprentices and trainers were onsite for over 6-weeks to complete this project.

“Painters and Allied Trades District 35 is thankful for the opportunity to be involved in the Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors project. As union members, the members of DC 35 know how to stand up for each other. In this case, we hoped we could make a difference and improve the life of Corporal Skarinka in a small gesture of gratitude for his continuing service to our nation,” said DC 35 Business Manager Jeff Sullivan.
