Shutdown of Boston Construction Sites

 In News

As you may have heard, Mayor Marty Walsh announced today that all Boston construction sites will be shut down starting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17. This is in response to the coronavirus pandemic sweeping our city, our country, and the world.

Contractors will be evaluating projects on a case-by-case basis and determining how to secure all job sites. We will be in contact with members who will be needed on skeleton crews to ensure these job sites are secured by the end of the day. The ban will be in effect for at least 14 days, at which time the city will reevaluate the situation.

This shut down is ONLY the case in the City of Boston. If you are on job sites outside of the city, you will still need to report to work as usual until further notice.

Everyone at DC 35 is here for our members during these uncertain and upsetting times. Please reach out to your union representative with any questions or concerns. We also will be sharing resources for displaced members in the coming days. We will get through this together, as one Union.

DC 35 strong.
