Tell Lawmakers to Protect Workers’ Rights!
Calling all New Hampshire members! TOMORROW, January 22nd, a so-called “right-to-work” bill (HB 238-FN) will have its public hearing. Right-to-Work laws interfere with your right to form a union, lower wages and workplace safety, and are out-of-state corporations’ attempt at lining their pockets at the expense of our working families. We need your help with getting our allies and union family to register their opposition to “Right-to-Work.” Go to gencourt.state.nh.us/house/committees/remotetestimony/default.aspx to register your opposition by doing the following:
- Fill in your personal information
- Select the date 1/22 on the calendar
- In the dropbox below “Select the Committee,” select House Labor, Industrial and Rehabilitative Services
- In the dropbox below “Choose the Bill,” select 10:00 AM – HB 238-FN
- Select the appropriate option for the “I am” dropbox (likely “Member of the Public”)
- Fill in the content box under “I’m Representing” with the business, organization, or group you are representing. If you are representing yourself only, write “myself”
- Under the “Indicate Your Position on this Bill,” check the circle stating your position on the bill. “I Oppose this Bill”
- You will then have the option to upload your testimony if you would like to testify but cannot attend in person. If you wish to speak during the hearing to present your testimony, you will need to attend in person at the State House.
- Click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page.
If you are available in-person, please join us tomorrow January 22nd from 8:30-10 am, join us in front of New Hampshire’s Legislative Office Building (33 N State Street, Concord, NH 03301) for a sign-holding rally. Show New Hampshire lawmakers that right-to-work is wrong for new Hampshire!
