EMPOWERING OUR FUTURE
In the spirit of solidarity, we must come together united through the resilience and strength of our GREAT District Council 35. As we navigate through the ever-evolving challenges that we face on the job site, in contract negotiations, work opportunities, and in our personal lives, it is crucial to reflect on our accomplishments and look ahead with optimism.
We not only paint bridges, we create them as well. Our Union has always fostered a community that values the skills, dedication, and craftsmanship of each member. By building the bridge of relationships, we as a team create collaboration and opportunity for the membership for mutual growth. The stronger we become as a Union, the stronger the foundation will be for the next generation of leaders within our District Council.
Investing in the future is at the core of our values. Through comprehensive training programs, we ensure that the next generation of tradespeople receives the education and skills necessary to excel in their craft and beyond. This commitment not only strengthens our union but also elevates the standards of our entire industry. This point underscores the commitment that District Council 35 has to the ongoing development of our members, leaders, and future leaders.
By setting the standard high and investing in the next generation, we secure the future success of both our union and our membership. We are a collective force for positive change by encouraging our members to see themselves as part of a legacy of unity, progress, and excellence. We are all here for a short amount of time in the grand scheme and we must secure the future. We need the younger generation to step up at their local elections and run for office. Get to know the ins and outs of your local and get active.
As we start the new year, there will be opportunities to have your voice heard. We have wage allocation votes, local union elections, delegates to the council election, and District Council elections. Next year is our Master Agreement negotiation and we may be in for the fight of our lives to get a fair and equitable contract. The stronger we are together, the more leverage we have for what we deserve. Regardless of trade, we must unite as a District Council to show up and vote.
