Standing with National Grid Workers

 In News

We marched in solidarity with our USW brothers and sisters who are currently locked out by their employer, National Grid. We were joined by hundreds of other union members and allies to send a clear
message that National Grid cannot put profits over safety and people.
More than 1,200 members of United Steelworkers Locals 12003 and 12012 were locked out by the multimillion-dollar energy giant, National Grid, on June 25 after contract negotiations broke down. The company stopped paying for workers’ health insurance
July 1, leaving more than 1,000 families across Massachusetts without healthcare. Despite reporting $4.58 billion in profits in
2018, the company is demanding deep cuts to healthcare, pensions and the right to hire more contractors.
